Nokia N9: One gesture, multiple functions

Today, the standard beautiful smart phone comes in either black, white or silver. Add any other colours and the high-end gadget starts looking cheap, however the Nokia N9 begs to differ. It's daring, it's bold and it loves to steal attention from the other mobile phones. It is by far the only phone to date that can pull off bright and quirky colours coming in cyan, magenta, black and the newly added pearl white.

The N9 is the type of gadget every 'geek' in the mobile phone industry would love to get a hold of. It refuses to conform to the trend of using Android or Windows Phone 7, instead it uses Meego and unfortunately it's the first and last.

Saying 'the phone feels great to hold' is beyond an understatement, the build quality is on par with the iPhone 4. The phone is a unibody of matte black polycarbonate. Of course it comes in other colours; Cyan, Magenta and Pearl White. The N9 is given a distinct personality with each quirky colour it comes in.

The curved glass over the 3.9" AMOLED screen is simply amazing. The icons look like they have been painted on and using the swipe gesture works flawlessly. While the picture below displays how good the screen is, it still does the N9 no justice. You just have to see it for yourself.

No more boring you with a long article, I'll get straight to the point:

Why you should buy it:

+ 3.9" AMOLED screen with a 480x854 pixel resolution
+ Strong polycarbonate unibody with Corning Gorilla Glass
+ 16GB or 64GB internal memory
+ 1Ghz processor coupled with 1GB RAM
+ Superior sound quality
+ 8MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics capable of recording 720p videos
+ Runs off a very stable Meego OS

Why you may consider a different device:

- No expandable memory
- Lack of third part apps
- No flash support in web browser
- No option to expand memory
- Micro SIM support
