ASUS Transformer Prime - Australian Release Date

Like many of you out there in the wild, wild west of the interwebs, we here at Twodudesonephone are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Asus' brand new monster of an android tablet, the Transformer Prime.

While some of you may have placed pre-orders with the likes of Amazon, B&H, Clove etc... we've been keeping an eye on Australian release details and pricing.

Asus Australia has previously tweeted/facebooked/'insert favourite time killing social network'ed that we will see the device landing on our shores in January. Several tipsters have told us though that the release date will fall in the late teens of January, ie 16th-19th January.

While we like to take any rumour with a little pinch of salt, these tipsters happen to work for 2 of the biggest electronics retailers in the country. We'll give them the benefit of the doubt this time :)

They've also indicated that pricing should be indicative of the rumours doing the rounds at the moment. That is, 32GB + Dock will be $799 and the 64GB + Dock will be $899

Either way, January is just around the corner. Personally, we just want the tablet. Hopefully stock of the stand alone tablet also ships with the tablet and dock combo.
